I do. I choose!

Happy February!!! Oh, la la. The month of love. C'est magnifique!

I contemplated what to write about this month, but after watching documentaries on Gerhard Richter and The Human Experience, I was inspired to talk about a theme that has been weaving in and out of my consciousness and that is “What is sacred?”

What is sacred to you? What does the word sacred mean to you? When I think about Saint Valentine’s Day, I think about all the reasons we have to love one another every day. Expressions of love should expand beyond Valentine’s Day and ooze into every waking day.

What is sacred to me? The list is so long, but I will say, what is most sacred are my relationships. I do not take anyone for granted. I do not pretend that people will be there tomorrow. Each moment is sacred with the people I love.

Beyond this, what is sacred to me is my work. Everything I create is from my heart and a deeply spiritually connected place within me. My product line, perfumes, manifestation beads, art, writing and readings all stem from a place of love and a sincere desire to support, help and empower everyone that I come in contact with. The sacredness of this is beyond explanation.

What is sacred to you? Do you value what is sacred to your loved ones? Do you nurture and cherish them? If not, can you begin to?

Sometimes when we are caught up in managing our lives we forget to appreciate the people in our immediate circle. You may take your partner, or friends for granted. After a long day, you may take your frustration out on your loved ones; maybe you’re neglecting yourself, too. Pay attention to what is sacred to you and begin to cherish and nurture those things. I assure you, it will be worth it.

The universe responds to those who choose love over everything. Our attitudes and language play a big role in what we attract. When we choose to operate from the space of respect and love -- doors and hearts open. What about trying a test this month and consciously choose words of love, even when you want to scream and yell? Can you rise above and choose to love, respect and accept? Can you preserve and protect those things that are sacred to you?

“The last of the human freedoms is to choose one’s attitudes.” Viktor Frankl

Saint Valentine

I’m going to make a conscious effort this month to elevate my life by choosing to  love – even when I’m hurt, tired and misunderstood…I will choose to love. I will do my best to nurture and cherish everyone I love and uplift anyone I encounter. Do you think you want try it? I bet you’ll like the results. :)

Here’s a little music to get you going:

Give a Little Love - Noah and the Whale

More Than This - Roxy Music (I had to.)

Bigger Than Love - Benjamin Gibbard

A Valentine for you.

In honor of Saint Valentine, I’d like to recommend Amour Eternal – Parfum by Life Aromatherapy (yours truly) and my 4th Chakra Spray – Love. Ohhh, you’re going to smell so good. Be careful! People might attack you (I’ve contemplated putting a warning sign on my fragrances. Haha! ---spray a little and get a tickle. Heavy with the spray, you won’t be able to keep them away. Ha!). Okay, enough with the jokes. Promise. ;)

Ahh, love. Isn’t it why we’re all here? To learn about it. Expand our ability to love. To cherish it? Love is a sacred thing. Our ability to love is one of the greatest gifts we have as humans. To some degree, behind all our actions is the desire to be loved. Even those that are more materially motivated and deep down searching for love and approval. Behind everything and in everyone, is love. I think that is pretty sacred. Don’t you think?

I’m wishing you a wonderful month full of all those things that bring you joy. Happy Valentine’s Day!! Oh, and to my guy, sis, sis-in-law and great friend, Happy Birthday!! MWAH!!

Love, love, love!

It's all love...

Love - It is everywhere and in everything. It’s all I’ll ever need on this journey and I will seek it out, spread it and search for it again and again. CK

Welcome to 2013. Woohoo! Oh how I love new beginnings!

This year holds and uplifted energy like no other. If you’ve been waiting for change and to elevate your circumstances, well I will assure you, it’s going to happen this year. Guaranteed.

January is all about releasing any remnants of the old, so for some, it may be a little rocky to start. You might find that your hyper-sensitive or emotional this month. Sometimes when we are clearing out the old, we grieve. Our bodies have a way of preparing us for the new energy. I’ve found in the last few days that I have moments when I just want to cry and for no particular reason. 2012 was a transformational year for many, me included. Sometimes our bodies just need to catch up and so, even if you’re mentally past something, the body takes a little longer to move through it and release it. Allow it to happen. Try not to resist. Emotions are just energy. They need to move through the body and not get trapped or stifled. It's all good. Promise.

My advice this month is to allow it all to come out. Don’t hold back. Give yourself the space you need. Next month will be action oriented and uplifted. Rest up, now. You’ll be feeling great by months end, I assure you.

I would like to suggest that this month’s focus be on love. True love, pure, unconditional love, starts with you. Make it your goal this month to begin to love and take care of yourself. If you struggle with self-confidence, make it a daily ritual to look yourself in the mirror and say “I love you. You are a beautiful soul. You are perfect just as you are.” For the men out there: "I am a handsome fella. I am confident. I am invincible." --- seriously, I dare you to experiment with affirmations. It can't hurt.. ;)

I’m a big believer in affirmations. Say these mantras daily until you feel and believe them. The more you give to yourself, the more you can give to others. Same goes with love. The more you love and accept yourself, the more able you are to truly love and accept others. Let this be the lesson of the month: To love. Love fully and unconditionally. Start with yourself.

My daily mantra: “Carrie, you are a smart and funny woman. You love shoes a bit too much and have an unusual sense of humor, but I accept you, just as you are.” (Just keeeeeeeeding).

My true mantra is this: “Carrie, you talk to yourself and to dead people,  you smell like  you walked out of an Indian Temple, you run into things, you pretend you are Larry David and Woody Allen (which isn’t really such a “girly” thing to do), but I love you anyway and appreciate you just as you are.” Wink, wink. Hee hee
Woody Allen & Larry David

I know sometimes my messages are corny, but in my work with my readings, I've noticed that many people don't love themselves enough and until you learn to love yourself, it's difficult to have a harmonious, balanced life. BUT, that's why we are here. To learn and to figure it out. I'm here to help if you need. There are many resources out there to give you a fresh start.

So, please create your own “love” mantra and use it daily. Be your own advocate. Oh, and use a little Life Aromatherapy “Love” spray to help with the process!;)

Here’s some music to get you motivated this month, too!

To re-vamp the energy of the line, we’ll be redesigning our website so that it is more user friendly. I’ll announce the re-design once it’s done. We’ve added a few more stores to our list of where you can find Life Aromatherapy products, as well. We are now in Paris and Switzerland!! Yay!! Check our Store Listing on our website to find stores in your area. If there is a store that you love and want to see Life Aromatherapy products in, let us know! We’re always open to new opportunities.

It’s going to be a great year. Trust it! Big things are happening…I can feel it. Let’s clear the slate and start with love. Once the flood gates open next month, let’s spread our love and energy everywhere!! We are all brilliant creators. Let’s share our gifts, fulfill our dreams and start imaging bigger and better things for ourselves.

With love,
Carrie

Happy Holidays

Welcome to December! I hope you all are enjoying the month so far and all the magic it holds. :)

Holiday Magic
As we move into the holidays, I hope that you all decide to slow things down a bit and take time to enjoy and let go a little. Try to get your shopping done early. Relax. Read a book. Go on a walk. Take a bath. Indulge a little. Savor every moment.

We often forget to just “be” and simply relax this time of year. I’ve heard stories from friends that their families have decided to not buy presents and rather just make the holiday about enjoying the time together. My family does something similar. I’m not saying everyone should do this (we still buy for the children in our family), but it’s a nice way to shift into a more expansive space of appreciation. I love buying gifts (and receiving them. hee hee), but in the back of my mind I’m always conscious of those people that are not as fortunate and want nothing more than something to eat and a place to rest. I hope this year you too, remember those people that need the help and maybe, if you can, do what you can to support them.

There is no greater gift than giving to someone that could really use the help. It fosters love and a depth of gratitude that is like nothing else. SO, in saying all this, I am donating 15% of profits from all on-line sales to the IRC this month. I am also going to give a percentage of money to the homeless in my area. Living in Santa Monica, I encounter a number of people that have no homes. It’s strange to live in such an abundant area, yet see so many people living on the street. I always give thanks for all that I have and I never take it for granted. I don’t take any of you for granted, either. Thank you from the bottom (and top!) of my heart for all your support!

I have to say one more thing and I'm sure it's on the forefront of your minds, as well. The horrific shooting and loss at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut breaks my heart and I struggle for words to convey my deepest sympathy to all the families that lost their beautiful little children and loved ones. It makes me sick to think about how everyone in their town will cope and recover from the trauma and grief around this situation. I hope this horrendous situation creates awareness around how destructive guns are and how necessary it is to change our laws around guns. If any light and awareness comes from this situation, I hope it is to limit the availability of guns and to reform our services to people that are in need of mental/emotional help. Something HAS to change.

Let's cherish every moment of our lives, especially now and going forward. Love your little (and big) ones like there is no tomorrow. Many of us take time for granted. Let's stop that. Things change moment to moment. Let's make the most of the time here.

Okay, so we have a couple new items we’ve added to the line: Life Manifestation Vials, Manifestation Oils and Fairy Gift Tags. Take a look!!! They will be on our website, soon, but in the meantime you can email order requests to: lifearomatherapy@yahoo.com

Manifestation Love Oil & Manifestation Vials

Here is some music recommendations. My holiday favorites:

Take it easy the next couple weeks. Prepare for the New Year. There will be lots of treats and surprises. Do the clearing, resting, now. I promise you, it’ll be good!! Next month might be a little rocky energetically (or frenzied for some), but come February IT IS ON!!! :)  Just you wait and see!

I am beyond grateful for all of you. Thank you again for being my light and inspiration for the work I do. I am sending much love and many wishes your way.
MWAH!

The Unknown Activist

Happy November! I love this month. There is so much to be grateful for and Thanksgiving gives us the perfect reminder to stay in the space of gratitude and grace.

October held a whirlwind of energy. Hurricane Sandy caused heart wrenching destruction to the Eastern Coast. Many people lost everything. The simple things that most of us are accustom to having like power and water, were a frustrating consequence on top of a horrible disaster. My heart goes out to everyone affected. If you would like to support those in need (if you haven’t already) you can donate to: www.redcross.org
In addition to this awful situation, I noticed upheavals in the lives of a number of clients and friends that I work with. I feel the full moon in Scorpio last month revealed all that was hidden and catapulted truth to the surface. That’s the thing with awareness and truth. We don’t always want to see and hear it, but when it comes to surface it’s for a purpose and it’s ultimately meant to elevate us to a better place. Dealing with it all, isn’t always fun. UPHEAVAL & TRUTH. That’s what the Full Moon brought.

The Scorpio full moon had an effect on the Election, as well. During the debates, a lot of language was thrown around that couldn’t be substantiated. Sometimes the lies were blatant, others were sugar coated and harder to decipher unless you did your homework. My loyalty and confidence in our current President wasn’t deterred, but it was interesting to see some candidates and supporters go to ridiculous lengths to hide the truth and to justify their case. BUT, the truth always prevails and people that are willing to grow and evolve will naturally gravitate to those that emit a feeling of authenticity and trust.I feel the next 4 years will elevate us all and allow for fairness and support in ways that we haven’t seen in decades. No one is perfect, but I have confidence in our President. I’m predicting some major progress and abundance in the next coming years.

To quote Gerald Jampolsky, M.D. " Everyone has his unique way of stating the Truth as he sees it, and that uniqueness is important, because there will be only certain people you and I will touch in this lifetime, and for those encounters, honesty will be the container of all the gifts we will give and receive."
How I imagine D was like in her 20's. :)
This brings me to my new hero, my neighbor D. I’m grateful that when I moved to California a couple (and a half!) years back that I attracted such a wonderful and supportive neighbor. She’s a Santa Monica local for 30 sum years. She’s left,  aware and involved. During the election I saw bumper stickers on her car, pins on her beret and signs in our yard all advocating “YES on 37" (Labeling food products that contain GMO’s).

I caught her one day coming in from the day. When I asked her how her day was and what she had been up to she said that she had been standing on the corner with a sign advocating “YES on 37.” She stood, on a highly traveled intersection, holding a sign just to get a message out. I was in awe. Now, some would say she is absolutely nuts, but I loved every second of her passion and earnestness. My heart expanded with delight when I heard her recall her day and how she stood on the corner, waving her sign to get a message out to anyone she encountered. That day she became my hero.

D, like a lot of us, has had a rough couple years. What I’ve noticed in her journey and healing through it all is how she constantly picks herself up and moves through it. I notice how she takes care of herself and even when she’s not her own advocate, she’s a voice for others. She inspires me. She’s always going to an art opening, a meditation, listening to informed radio, sharing interesting articles/events, taking a yoga class, painting, chanting, exploring a new restaurant…she is a brilliant woman, humble and real and is not afraid to be vulnerable or admit her flaws. Thank you D for all that you do.We could all learn a thing or two from you.

NOW, I have to say this message could go on forever because there are endless people in my life that inspire me and whom are amazing people that I am incredibly grateful for. The list is so long that I hope that in acknowledging that there really isn’t one person in my life that I don’t feel this way about, makes it simpler to communicate. I wanted to write about D because she is someone that I feel isn't always aware of her gifts. I want her and you all to know that even the smallest things you do for yourself, others and the world get noticed. I wanted to let you all know that I notice. I am grateful for each and every one of you!

D – keep rocking on. Wave that sign for the entire world to see. I’m inspired to do the same. It’s good to be humble, but it’s also good to fight for what you believe in, especially when it comes to being your own advocate.

Let’s all give “thanks” this Thanksgiving and always. Be grateful for all the changes in your life. They are elevating you to new, authentic and empowered energy. Be prepared for the New Year. The year 2013 might start a little rocky as the Universe finds equilibrium after frenzied year, but by February/March we should all be feeling better, balanced and more empowered and energized. Some of you air signs better hold on for January. I have a feeling it’s going to be a very active month for you.

To keep us in the space of Gratitude, I’d like to suggest a couple artists that I am wholeheartedly grateful exist:

These three artists always seem to evoke something deep in me. I wanted to share some of my favorite songs with all of you. I hope they evoke something in you.

And I cannot forget about my products & readings! I am grateful every day that I am able to do what I love. So, to honor all of you, I’m giving 15% off my readings and any product purchases through the end of November. To schedule a reading, you can go to my website: www.fairygirlbliss.com or email me at: carrie@fairygirlbliss.com – you can also find me on Facebook & Twitter under: Carrie A.
